PURPOSE

The purpose of Planet Nichols Hills is to serve as a regional chapter of the Oklahoma Sustainability Network.

MISSION

The mission of Plant Nichols Hills is to explore the meaning of “sustainability” with the Nichols Hills community and surrounding communities and to study, discover, demonstrate, model and facilitate activities that move the community towards an increasingly sustainable future.

PROJECTS

The projects of Planet Nichols Hills are undertaken in cooperation with the Environment, Health and Sustainability Commission of the City of Nichols Hills and include:

• Annual Landscape Forum in February
• Earth Day Community Fete in April
• Promoting Bike to Work day on May 14
• Demonstration home on the Nichols Hills Garden Tour in June
• America Recycles Day in November
• Environmental articles in the magazines published monthly by Southwestern Publishing Company
• Community awareness articles in local newspapers
• Green grocery totes and shopping bags
