Fridays leading up to Earth Day, “Pick Up the Pace” Children’s Fun Run Preparation
4:30 to 6:00 p.m.

Pick Up The Pace, a local children’s running and fitness group, intends to inspire appreciation for the environment through outdoor physical activity. We hope to aid the efforts of Planet Nichols Hills by teaching our children to value and care for the world they will inherit. Children are encouraged to attend with their parents or guardians while we walk, run, or play at Kite Park (1301 Camden Way, Nichols Hills).

Saturday, April 21, “Pick Up the Pace” Children’s One-Mile Fun Run!
9:30 a.m.

The big event, a one-mile fun run, will start at the former First Church of Christ Scientist (1203 Sherwood Lane, Nichols Hills).

In an effort to teach our children to reduce, reuse, and recycle, Pick Up The Pace will also be collecting used items to create art projects. The following items will be collected: shoe boxes, used aluminum foil that hasn’t touched food, flattened cereal boxes, scrap paper, and colorful tops of water bottles and milk cartons.

Saturday, April 21, Other Children’s Activities
9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

  • Bounce House
  • Kids’ Art Tent run by Susan Cromer Yback, featuring crafts made out of recyclable materials
  • Community garden
  • Wildlife
  • Music
  • Seed planting with Whole Foods Market
  • And much more!

ALL SUPPLIES ARE PROVIDED! All children are welcome.
